On Board(s): Is wakeboarding easier than water skiing?
For anyone new to the sport, it may seem like planting your feet on one thick board is easier than balancing on two narrow “sticks”. If you’ve snow-skied before, then you’ll likely say that working with two boards is easier than working with one.
However, both water skiing and wakeboarding take immense upper body strength. And balance. In comparison, they also both have ropes and a handle to hold onto the entire times you’re in the water. This leads us to speed. While wakeboarding, you’re likely to get speeds up to 43 kilometers per hour. You’ll take it up a notch with water skiing when you can likely go up to 59 kilometers per hour. Deciding which sport is actually easier depends on the participant. Some may think water skiing is harder since your legs might want to go in opposite directions. It might be easier to find balance on one board.
